The 2017 Halo World Championships that took in the past week turned out to be the biggest Halo event EVER.
At its peak the streams for the Halo World Championships hit over 130k viewers across the likes of Twitch, Twitter, Facebook etc making it the most watched Halo event in the games history. All in all well over 10m individual viewers where recorded with the majority watching over Twitter and Twitch.
Optic Gaming (find out more about them here) ended up winning the event for a second year on the trot with a devastating 4-0 victory in the final.
So Why Was There Halo-rage on Twitter?

It’s painful to see isn’t it… $65 for a ticket to sit in a tent round the corner from the venue and watch it on a TV screen. When this event had a prize pool of $1 million you would probably expect a little better! Anyway, no publicity is bad publicity and I imagine we saw a significant spike in views just from people wanting to check out the shoddy scenery!
Silver linings right? Congrats to opTic gaming anyhow!
